San Jose police arrested a teenage boy last week on suspicion of several gun-related crimes, police said Tuesday.
Officers arrested the boy on Thursday at his Milpitas home, after which he was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of possessing and discharging firearms within 1,000 feet of a school, police said.
The arrest follows an investigation that began on March 4, when someone called police to report some kind of "disturbance" involving a group of teenage boys in the 3600 block of Gurdwara Avenue that happened on Feb. 23.
Detectives eventually identified the 16-year-old suspect. They alleged he negligently fired off rounds from a gun in other instances, including near a school in Milpitas.
