The iconic children’s show Reading Rainbow will return with its first new episodes in 19 years starting Oct. 4—and with a new host at the helm.
"After nearly 20 years... Reading Rainbow is returning to motivate, help, and encourage kids to become avid readers with new episodes, new friends, new projects, and of course… new books!" the show announced on Instagram Sept. 29. "Make sure to follow the rainbow."
Mychal Threets will host the new incarnation of Reading Rainbow , succeeding original LeVar Burton , who hosted the PBS show during its original 23-year run until that chapter closed in 2006.
And Mychal is read to turn the page on this new adventure.
