CENTER, Wis. (WFRV) - A 47-year-old woman from Nichols was killed shortly before 6 a.m. on Wednesday after an SUV reportedly crossed a center line and struck her vehicle.

According to the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched at 5:55 a.m. for the two-vehicle crash near the intersection of County Road A and Quarry Road.

Preliminary investigations show that the SUV traveling northbound on County Road A crossed the center line, hitting a southbound vehicle on the opposite side.

The SUV driver, a 19-year-old Hortonville woman, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The stricken vehicle, driven by a 47-year-old Nichols woman, died at the scene of the crash.

County Road A was reportedly closed for approximately five hours and has since reopened.
