Jerusalem, Oct 01: Activists aboard a Gaza-bound aid flotilla said Wednesday the Israeli navy has begun intercepting their vessels.
Naval ships had approached the flotilla and ordered them to turn off their engines, they said on social media.
The Global Sumud Flotilla, made up of around 50 small vessels with some 500 people on board, carried a symbolic amount of humanitarian aid, mainly food and medicine, for Palestinians in the besieged enclave of Gaza.
