GRAND FORKS – The U.S. Department of War has awarded a nearly $20 million contract to a local contractor for runway repairs at Grand Forks Air Force Base.

The task order contract was awarded to United Crane and Excavation to repair cracking and weathering on the runway pavement, according to a Wednesday press release from the office of Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-North Dakota.

Cramer chairs the Senate Armed Services Airland Subcommittee. In that position, he has been advocating for funding to help repair the runway, the press release said.
