Jane Goodall, the famous conservationist best known for her work studying chimpanzees, has died, the Jane Goodall Institute announced on Wednesday morning . She was 91. Goodall died of natural causes in California during a speaking tour across the United States.

Goodall had influence on the world, and the Reno-Tahoe area was no exception. From speaking to students at the Lake Tahoe School in Incline Village in 2019 to visiting a U.S. Wolf Refuge in North Reno in 2022 and even inspiring art at Burning Man , Goodall left her mark in Northern Nevada.
