It’s more than just a battle between two of the top teams in the OHL.

Thursday’s meeting between the Windsor Spitfires and Niagara IceDogs at the WFCU will also pit the perceived top two prospects in the OHL for the 2026 NHL Draft.

Battle of the big men?

In his third season, IceDogs’ forward Ryan Roobroeck is currently considered the top prospect in the OHL while Spitfires’ second-year forward Ethan Belchetz is currently viewed as the league’s second-best prospect.

“You don’t focus on that part,” the 17-year-old Belchetz said. “You just focus on your game and playing the right way and stick to what you’re good at. It’s a fun year, but it’s a long year and there will be lots of ups and downs that are going to happen.”
