GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - Officials are praising the doctors who cared for the victims of the mass shooting at a Grand Blanc Township church on Sunday.

Three physicians from Henry Ford Genysys Hospital on Wednesday held a press conference detailing the work their team did as victims rolled into the hospital in the wake of the shooting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on McCandlish Road.

In total, five people were killed at the scene — including the attacker, Thomas Sanford — while eight others were taken to the hospital.

At Wednesday’s press conference, one doctor said “we had some outstanding nurses that day.”
