Aberdeen have confirmed that Kristers Tobers has been ruled out of their Conference League campaign. ‌

The Dons immediately moved to replace the Latvian international with Alfie Dorrington, ahead of Thursday’s opener with Shakhtar Donetsk. ‌

Tobers, who has just got back to fitness , suffered a long-term knee injury in the weekend defeat to Motherwell. ‌

It means Aberdeen can bring in Dorrington to replace him

Boss Jimmy Thelin said: “We are all hugely disappointed for Kristers , particularly as he had worked so hard to return to the squad last weekend. ‌

“Our medical team will provide him with the very best care and support to help him return to full fitness as soon as possible.”
