PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- If you plan to book airfare for the holidays, experts say it is better to do it now than wait.
According to Eric Rosen, who is known as The Points Guy , airfare is up about 6% to 7% for both domestic and international travel for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
"The good news for folks is that the next couple of weeks, now through about mid-October, are a great window to purchase those tickets, especially if you're going to fly," said Rosen.
He also said airline prices will start going up for the holidays around October 15th to the 20th.
And, if you've been thinking you can snag a last-minute deal, Rosen said that prices likely will not go down but only go up.
And if you can be flexible with your dates of travel, that is a great way to save a lot of money.
