OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A local artist has beautified yet another section of our community.

Emily Jablon of Jablon Studios was joined by the Tioga Arts Council and Owego Rotary on Wednesday for her latest mural unveiling.

In 2019, the Village of Owego received a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant to transform its downtown. As a part of this revitalization, the arts council began spearheading a public art project.

Over the last year, Jablon has created the Owego Animals Mosaic series. Featured on five mosaic panels are animals native to New York State that spell out Owego. There is an Osprey, Woodchuck, Eastern newt, Golden shiner fish, and One-eyed sphinx moth.

She was assisted by members of Owego Rotary.
