Do you know the inspiration behind the new Hulu sports comedy “Chad Powers?”

Glen Powell stars as Russ Holliday, an egotistical college football quarterback whose career comes to a screeching halt after an embarrassing stunt costs his team a championship game. Not ready to hang up his helmet, Russ disguises himself as the goofy Chad Powers to play for a small college in Georgia.

Before Powell stepped into the titular role, retired NFL quarterback Eli Manning starred as Chad Powers in a 2022 episode of“Eli’s Places.” In the original Chad Powers skit , Manning wore prosthetics, a fake mustache, and a wig to blend in at Penn State’s walk-on tryouts.

Once he was fully in disguise, Eli FaceTimed his brother, fellow NFL alum Peyton Manning.
