ROCK HILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 84-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while on a motorcycle in Rock Hill early Wednesday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Around 11:04 a.m., troopers responded to Mt. Gallant Road and Worsham Lane for a report of a fatal crash.

Officials say that a 1981 Honda motorcycle and a 2020 Chrysler minivan were traveling west on Mt. Gallant when the motorcycle attempted to turn left onto Homestead Road and was struck by the minivan.

The motorcyclist, later identified by the York County Coroner's Office as Peter McLean, 84, of Rock Hill, died at the scene.

The collision is still under investigation by SHP. No word yet on whether charges will be filed in the case.
