GILBERT, Ariz. — One of the teenagers injured in an East Valley car crash on Sept. 27 has died, police say.
The incident was reported Saturday night near Williams Field and Gilbert roads just after 10 p.m. when a vehicle reportedly struck a tree.
Gilbert police said five teenagers, between ages 16 and 17, were inside the car at the time. Four of the teens sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. The fifth juvenile sustained minor injuries.
Police said the car's driver, a 16-year-old girl, died Tuesday afternoon from her injuries. Two of the other teens remain hospitalized.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
