Elon Musk has cancelled his Netflix subscription. The move, which he shared with his 227 million followers, comes after the creator of a Netflix TV series was accused of dubbing conservative activist Charlie Kirk a Nazi. Hamish Steele, the British creator of the animated show Dead End: Paranormal Park, allegedly responded to a statement by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on X, calling Kirk a "random Nazi". Screenshots of the post, which is no longer public, went viral. "Just cancelled my Netflix subscription. If you employ someone who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk... you will never get a dime of my money. It's as simple as that," one X user wrote, alongside a screenshot of the cancellation. Musk responded by resharing the post, captioning it: "Same." The tech titan's announcement of his Netflix cancellation gained traction on X, with thousands of users agreeing with the move, and some claiming they would follow in his footsteps. Following the shooting, Musk slammed the Democratic Party, castigating them for "celebrating cold-blooded murder". Charlie Kirk was assassinated on 10 September while speaking at a public rally at Utah Valley University. Dead End: Paranormal Park followed two teens working at a haunted amusement park. The show was cancelled amid cost-cutting efforts in October 2022 after two seasons.
