Goaltender Carter Gylander, who played in 34 regular-season games for the Toledo Walleye last season, has been assigned back to the ECHL team by the Detroit Red Wings.

As a rookie last season, Gylander posted a 20-9-4 record with two shutouts and a .907 save percentage for the Walleye. Gylander finished the regular season ranked 18th among all ECHL goalies in goals-against average at 2.61.

The 24-year-old split time with fellow goalie Jan Bednar in net last season for Toledo. The duo led the Walleye to the Kelly Cup Finals.

Bednar, who had a 23-8-6 record with four shutouts, a 2.34 goals-against average, and a .914 save percentage in 37 regular-season games, signed with a team in Norway this summer.
