PEORIA, Ill. – Two people were arrested after a fire at a Peoria apartment complex Tuesday night.
Peoria Police says they and fire crews responded to the Lexington Hills Apartments for an apartment fire.
Officers evacuated the building, but were advised that two adults and three children remained inside the affected apartment. The adults were eventually safely removed from the building.
Police say the source of the fire was reported stolen electronics inside an oven.
36-year-old Curtis McBride and 22-year-old Tkeyah Murray were both arrested for Aggravated Arson and three counts of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
