CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Wednesday marked a fresh start for the city of Cleveland Heights as former council president Tony Cuda was sworn into office as the new interim mayor.

It’s temporary until November, when voters will get to choose.

“Hang in there with us. This is a great city. We have great people in this city,” said Cuda.

Cuda took over for former Mayor Kahlil Seren.

Voters recalled Seren in September after months of legal chaos.

Cleveland Heights resident Nancy Craft is just glad that’s all in the past now.

“It’s been kind of crazy. I try not to get too involved. There’s been a lot going on, and I am just glad we can continue to move forward with our city and raise our families here and enjoy it,” said Craft.
