Man airlifted to hospital after Coles County crash

WESTFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A 46-year-old man was taken to the hospital by helicopter Tuesday after a pickup truck crashed into his tractor.

The Coles County Sheriff's Office said it happened on Westfield Road near the intersection of 2000 East County Road just after 6 p.m.

According to police, 46-year-old Anthony Willenborg was ejected from his tractor while driving down Westfield road after a pickup truck hit it's back tire, sending the tractor into a ditch.

Willenborg was taken to the hospital in a helicopter. The driver of the pickup, 27-year-old Caleb Tidwell, refused medical treatment at the scene and was given a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The crash is still under investigation.
