Quentin Grimes is returning to the Philadelphia 76ers after all.
The restricted free agent signed a one-year qualifying offer worth $8.7 million, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Wednesday.
Grimes, 25, had been unsigned throughout the off-season as he sought a deal worth as much as $30 million annually, per Charania.
Instead, he’ll settle for the one-year qualifying offer, which comes with a no-trade clause and sets him up for unrestricted free agency next summer.
Grimes averaged career highs in points (14.6), rebounds (4.3), assists (3) and steals (1) last season, which he started with the Dallas Mavericks before a mid-season trade to the 76ers.
Fellow restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga came to terms with the Golden State Warriors on a two-year, $48.5 million contract on Tuesday
