Two clubs fighting for national glory meet up on Wednesday night, as Nashville SC takes on Austin FC in the Lone Star State in the 2025 U.S. Open Cup Final.

This is the first time both Nashville and Austin are playing for the Lamar Hunt Cup.

Nashville made it to this point by beating a USL 1 side, the Chattanooga Red Wolves, in the Round of 32, before getting by Orlando City in the Round of 16. Then, the team beat both D.C. United and the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union to make it to the final.

Austin got past Texas rivals El Paso Locomotive and Houston Dynamo in its first two Cup matches, before taking down the San Jose Earthquakes and Minnesota United, both on the road, to advance to the championship match.
