State officials have confirmed 10 new measles cases in the Twin Cities metro area.
On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Health announced the new cases, bringing the state’s total for the year to 18 cases.
The agency says the 10 new cases can all be tied to either domestic or international travel and are all among unvaccinated people.
Seven of the new cases reported this week impacted families who had recently traveled domestically and were related to the 3 other cases reported in Dakota County last week.
The 3 unrelated, additional cases were tied to international travel.
The new measles cases mark a trend being seen across the country with cases on the rise this year.
