Lou Diamond Phillips ( Young Guns ), who serves as Vice President of the Academy’s Actors Branch, is set to direct and appear in legal thriller The Ambulance Chaser, based on the novel by Brian Cuban, brother of Mark Cuban.

Set in Atlanta and produced by Autumn Bailey-Ford, the film’s creative team includes cinematographer Alan Caudillo ( The Cleaning Lady ) and legendary production designer Wynn Thomas ( Malcolm X) who will receive an honorary Oscar this year. Executive producers include Jeff Baker, David DeLugas and Roshown McLeod.
