A Long Island woman is accused of driving while intoxicated and crashing through a fence onto the tracks at the Nassau Boulevard Long Island Rail Road station Tuesday night.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. when the Garden City Police Department responded to the station for a report of a vehicle on the railroad tracks.

Investigators said a vehicle with two occupants crashed into two parked cars, a fence, the railroad tracks, the third rail and a platform post before coming to a stop.

The driver, later identified as 60-year-old Christine Riordan of Garden City, was arrested for DWI.

The crash led to the temporary suspension of service on the LIRR’s Hempstead Branch, though no injures were reported, police said.
