ROBINSON, Texas — Editor's note: The video above originally aired as part of a previous story
Sick raccoons that were captured in Robinson have tested negative for rabies, the Robinson Police Department has announced.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, the Robinson Police Department said it received calls of "unwell" raccoons along S. Robinson Drive. Robinson PD said officers were able to capture the raccoons and send them to get their health checked.
On Oct. 1, police announced that the raccoons had tested negative for rabies.
Despite the negative tests, Robinson PD still encourages residents to be cautious around wildlife, as well as keeping pets up to date on vaccinations and avoiding contact with any wild or stray animals acting strangely.
"Thank you to everyone who reported the sightings
