PEORIA, Ill, (WMBD) -- A consumer alert shows the price on electricity has dropped by more than 30%, and a watchdog group is encouraging utility customers to check their energy bills.
A statement from the Citizen Utility Board offers Ameren Illinois Customers the suggestion to check utility bills under the "Electric Supply" section, "to confirm they are not overpaying with an expensive alternative supplier offer, including supplier offers negotiated by local governments."
The new pricing for Ameren's non-summer rate good from October 2025 thought May 2026.
