PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Career opportunities are being explored at the Peoria Civic Center, as eighth graders from the Peoria area are considering their future.
The two-day CareerSpark event led by Greater Peoria Pathways and Junior Achievement of Central Illinois gave 4,000 middle schoolers hands-on experience with career options.
Greater Peoria CareerSpark has interactive exhibits that allow students to learn about careers such as engineering, agriculture, technology and health care fields.
One participant, Jayson McKneight from Chillicothe Elementary Center, said events like these are crucial to ensure students have an idea of what they want to do after they graduate from high school.
