Puneeta McBryan had two words to describe the outgoing city council’s performance on promoting Downtown night life and the arts.
“Absolute disaster,” said McBryan, the outgoing executive director of the Edmonton Downtown Business Association. She made the comment as she hosted a mayoral forum Wednesday morning at the Citadel Theatre.
She admitted frustration at what she sees as the city’s lack of action on Downtown vibrancy. In the spring of 2024, council received a report and recommendations on how to bolster the city’s nighttime economy. Little has been done on the file since then.
