Hospitality, tax incentives, Japanese rapport helped bring Isuzu to Upstate

The newest North American production center for Isuzu broke ground on Oct. 1 — marking the start of a partnership between the Japanese-based automotive company and the Palmetto State.

In its entirety, the project will cost $280 million, span across one million square feet, and plans to officially begin production on three separate series of vans and vehicles in 2027, with the possibility of later expansion.
