HARTVILLE, Mo. (KY3) - Wright County Sheriff Sonny Beyerly announced his retirement with two years left in his term.

The sheriff announced his intentions on Facebook on Wednesday. He will leave office on November 1.

Sheriff Beyerly won re-election in 2024. Commissioners have not announced an interim selection.

Sheriff Beyerly released this statement to KY3 News:

“It is with a grateful heart that I announce my retirement as Sheriff of Wright County, effective November 1, 2025.

Serving as your Sheriff has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am humbled by the trust the citizens of Wright County have placed in me, and I am deeply appreciative of the support I have received from my staff, fellow first responders, the Commission, and the community at large.
