Some in the Arizona congressional delegation are not taking their pay during the federal government shutdown, a voluntary act that goes along with some shutdown who will not be getting paid.
The U.S. government shut down Wednesday after a failure from Congress to agree on federal spending and a resolution. During this time military, TSA and other federal employees are expected to work without pay until a budget is passed.
Democrat Rep. Yassamin Ansari, who represents Phoenix, and Glendale announced she would donate her salary to Pheonix-area health center Wesley Community and Health Centers, with locations in Phoenix and Mesa.
“Between Trump’s Big Ugly Bill and Republicans refusing to extend ACA tax credits in this funding stalemate, Wesley is at risk of closing its doors for good. We’
