BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A video showing oil in the Tangipahoa River leftover from the explosion at Smitty’s Supply in Roseland went viral on social media, sparking discussion and concern about cleanup efforts.

Governor Jeff Landry and EPA representatives met with the public today to give a progress report on those efforts and what they have planned.

It’s been almost six weeks since the explosion, leaving residents with a lot of questions about the safety of waterways and the air. One video has been making its rounds on social media since it was posted Saturday afternoon, showing oil in the Tangipahoa River 30 miles south of Smitty’s.
