MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A man has been arrested for stealing two skid steers from a job site on Rumble Road in Monroe County last Thursday.

Homer Douglas Roy, 35, from Fairburn, Georgia, stole two of the compact, heavy construction machines, the sheriff's office said.

After the Monroe County Sheriff's Office investigated reports of the two skid steers going missing, they were able to locate both of them, the sheriff's office said.

One was found in Manchester, Georgia and the other was found in Riverdale, Georgia, according to the sheriff's office.

Roy was charged with two counts of theft, and the case is still under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.

Skid steers can cost anywhere from $50,000 to $115,000, as listed on John Deere's website.
