A bid by a Floreat resident to be part of a review of a viewing tower in City Beach — more than 4km from their home — has been rejected by the State Administrative Tribunal.

In January developer Blackburne lodged plans for a temporary viewing tower at the Ocean Village Neighbourhood Centre on Brompton Road.

Approval has been given for a 23-storey mixed use development at the site and the tower is intended to give prospective buyers an idea of the views available.

An appeal against a Town of Cambridge decision to refuse the viewing tower is scheduled to be heard in November.

Floreat resident Anthony Ralph had sought approval to intervene in the review and make submissions.
