BANGOR -- Eastern Maine Community College received a rather large donation from a local contractor company, about 25 tons in fact.

Today, Sargent Corporation donated a Caterpillar 320 excavator to EMCC, which the company used for an estimated 70,000 hours.

Sargent Assistant Equipment Manager Brandon Mace says the excavator is the cutting edge of electric and hydraulic heavy equipment and is exactly the kind of equipment EMCC students will need to know how to work on once they enter the workforce.

Sargent equipment manager and EMVTI alum, Tim Richards, says this donation is a way to ensure the next generation has that knowledge.
