NEW YORK — Backup Connor Wong has spent most of the season as Brayan Bello’s personal catcher. But starting catcher Carlos Narváez will catch Bello in Game 2.

The Red Sox will attempt to sweep their best-of-three AL Wild Card Series on Wednesday at 6:08 p.m. Boston beat New York 3-1 in Game 1 on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium.

“Just Narvi’s putting good at-bats (together),” manager Alex Cora explained. “I’ve been through this before. Sandy (Leon) was (Rick) Porcello’s personal catcher, and then he wasn’t, right? Connor has done a good job with Bello, but I don’t think having Narvi behind is going to change a thing. We’re going to attack the same way. He’s a good defender. He knows him.”

Bello has a 3.07 ERA (29 ⅓ innings, 10 earned runs) while holding opponents to a .257/.371/.419/.790
