Glaciers, vast wilderness and the northern lights await Phoenix travelers in 2026.

American Airlines announced it's bringing back a seasonal route to Anchorage, Alaska, from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Flights will launch next spring.

Simultaneously, American announced it would increase the number of nonstop flights it offers between Phoenix and San Jose on the weekend of the 2026 Super Bowl.

The route reflects American's "ongoing commitment to grow with our customers" with access to more leisure and business travel from Sky Harbor.
