PLEASANTON, Texas — The Pleasanton Police Department has arrested a 40-year-old suspect after he allegedly led authorities on a high-speed chase that led to a crash and the discovery of drugs.

Around 8:30 a.m., officers observed a motorcycle that had been reportedly driving recklessly at high rates of speed from Jourdanton into Pleasanton.

When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the motorcyclist took off and led police on a high-speed chase before he eventually crashed the bike without involving other vehices.

After a short pursuit on foot the driver, identified as Cortney Roeper, was caught and arrested by police.

A search of the area allegedly led officers to find a bag containing methamphetamine, which they say Roeper attempted to hide.
