These specially trained dogs play a crucial role in arson investigations, using their noses to detect accelerants that can uncover critical evidence. Officials say the K9s are not only loyal partners but also vital to bringing justice and safety to communities across Tennessee.

TBI says the recognition is a way to thank the dogs and their handlers for their dedication to fire prevention and investigative work.
