Bondar\'s Family

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Today, Oct. 1, Wolski's Tavern announced the loss of legend - long-term bartender of Wolski's Tavern , Mike Bondar, has passed away.

In a statement released by the family, Bondar has been the face behind the bar for decades. Located on Pulaski St. the tavern has been run by the same family for generations, since 1908 when it first opened its doors.

Mike Bondar started the 'I Closed Wolski's' stickers back in the 1970s after faithful patrons wanted recognition for sticking around from noon to 2 a.m. From Milwaukee all the way to Europe, the sticker can be seen, according to the family.

Wolski's will enter 'a new chapter,' but now, the family wants to invite everyone to raise a glass in honor of Mike.
