ALLERTON, Iowa —
Casey's General Store is facing a potential class action lawsuit.
That lawsuit claims it overcharges customers by advertising in-store discounts that are not applied to purchases at the cash register. It was filed by Kit Mason of Allerton.
Mason provided multiple receipts, including one from July 10. Mason says he visited a store in Humeston and purchased two Four Loko alcoholic drinks advertised as two for $4.
Mason's receipt shows he was charged $7 for both of them.
In response, Casey's provided a statement:
"We are aware of the allegations and intend to vigorously defend against them. We will respond formally through the legal process."
