FIFA has already announced which 11 United States cities will host games for the 2026 World Cup. However, President Donald Trump is threatening to move games from some cities based on crime rates.
Trump said last week that he won’t hesitate to move games if he feels like a host city is unsafe.
“Any city we think is going to be even a little bit dangerous for the World Cup, or for the Olympics… but for the World Cup in particular, because they’re playing in so many cities, we won’t allow it," Donald Trump said. “We’ll move it around a little bit. But I hope that’s not going to happen.”
As things stand, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle are set to host World Cup games.
