The William Holmes McGuffey Wildlife Preserve at Mill Creek MetroParks is still in desperate need of restoration.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the McGuffey Historical Society, Richard Scarsella said residents on the northeast side of the city and county pay the tax levy for the park but the park could not preserve the pond and the dock.

"If you want to go to a dock or a pond, you need to get in a car and go to a different part of town which is very difficult for a lot of people," Scarsella said.

Scarsella feels this side of town is being discriminated against and is asking Youngstown council members to do something about it.
