PEORIA, Ill. – A 29-year-old has been arrested in connection to a shooting in downtown Peoria early Sunday morning.

Peoria Police says Adrian Morris was identified as a suspect and took him into custody on Wednesday without incident.

The shooting left a 24-year-old male in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest. A crowd of more than 50 people hindered emergency personnel from providing aid to the victim.

During a search warrant at a house in the area of Gomo and Tonti Circle, police reportedly seized multiple firearms.

Morris is charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
