A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Wednesday at 6:06 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 6:30 p.m. for Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.
Residents can expect wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
"At 6:06 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Milton-Freewater, or 8 miles southwest of Walla Walla, moving northeast at 45 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
Locations impacted by the alert include Walla Walla, College Place, Milton-Freewater, Weston, Dixie, Umapine, Garrett and Kooskooskie.
