When will Bo Bichette be back? Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hinted it won’t be before the American League division series ends.

“I hope we win this series and he comes back for the next one,” Guerrero Jr. said Wednesday. “We miss him. He knows we miss him. This is God’s plan. Whatever God has for us, we’ve got to take.”

The Jays have been without their shortstop since Sept. 6 when he sprained his left knee in a collision at the plate. His absence loomed over the team’s first media availability since clinching the division Sunday, with manager John Schneider sidestepping questions on Bichette’s timetable.

“Every day he’s hitting more. We got him on the field playing some catch. Not running yet but hopefully starting soon,” Schneider said. “We’ll know Friday.”
