PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - President Donald Trump on Saturday announced he will send troops to Portland.
His announcement was met with pushback from Oregon’s governor and leaders in Portland. Oregon conservatives praised the president’s decision.
On Sunday, Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield says he filed a lawsuit in US District Court against the Trump administration.
The Federal mission will bring 200 troops to Portland, as early as this weekend.
The guardsmen began arriving Tuesday in Salem and Woodburn, and will spend three days training in crowd control and use of force before beginning their mission to protect federal buildings in Portland.
