CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person was shot in the eye while riding a CTA bus Wednesday evening on the city's West Side.

The shooting happened around 7:56 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Madison Street in West Garfield Park, Chicago police said.

The victim, a male whose exact age was not yet known, was on a CTA bus when he and an unknown offender got into a verbal altercation, police said. The offender pulled out a handgun and fired shots, grazing the victim in the eye.

The person who was shot was taken to a hospital in good condition, CPD said.

No arrests have bene made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
