After Haverford lit up the scoreboard and the record book in last Friday’s 60-25 rout of Lower Merion, there were plenty of game balls to hand out.
Central League coaches made sure three Fords got recognized as positional players of the week.
Emmet Gillespie was the anchor up front, leading an offensive line that bullied its way to 512 total yards, the most in a game in school history. His work in the trenches earned him offensive lineman of the week honors.
Liam Taylor was named running back of the week after accumulating 362 yards on 29 carries and finding the end zone four times. His effort was the sixth-best rushing performance in Delco history and a school record. The old mark of 337 was also Taylor’s, set during his Daily Times Player of the Year season last fall.
