Walmart is taking steps to align with the “Make America Healthy Again” initiative by announcing the removal of synthetic dyes and 30 other chemical ingredients from its store-brand foods.

The chemicals being removed include preservatives, artificial sweeteners and fat substitutes. This move mirrors actions taken by other major food manufacturers like Nestle, Kraft and Pepsi.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated that a new vegetable-based dye has been approved to replace some of the current synthetic dyes in use.
